why was it okay for a older man to marry a young girl back in the old days. But now its wrong? I think its wrong either way. But why was it okay back then? doesnt make much sense why a man would want to be with a young girl.

Back then men had significant control over the sexual and intellectual lives of women. By marrying off girls from a young age men could continue to exert control over them at a time when they were sexually, emotionally, and intellectually naive.
Fortunately most human beings have grown up.

I haven't noticed that society thinks that it is wrong today! It happens all the time. You must remember though, men married younger women because they didn't live long - average life span closer to 30!
