An ideal date for me is calm and casual, nothing that will end up uncomfortable. If you are meeting them for the first time or don't know anything about them its nice to only commit to coffee that way it can be short or long depending on if one of you wants to bail. If you know who the person and think dinner is appropriate its nice to see how one is without their friend or co workers around and if they have manners etc. I would not plan anything too extravagant for a first date. However if this is someone you have been on a couple of dates with and still like perhaps things like the park, zoo, botanic garden, night clubs, concerts and other things are now in the comfort zone.

I am not going to insult anyone...but movies and popcorn and ice cream aren't the only parts of an IDEAL date.
Beach, weekend getaways, they're not unique either.
So my ideal date would be getting in our pajamas, watching old movies, eating stuff, laughing, cuddling, tickling each other and then falling asleep in each other's arms.
No need for sex.
Could be some ice cream.
INTIMACY is my ideal date.

The point of a first date is to get to know someone, therefore I never take a first date to the movies. The last few first dates I've had, I've invited him over, cooked for him, and we got to sit down, have a meal that wasn't rushed, and didn't have to worry about who was watching us.

Eh I'd want it to be scratch off movies and come to my place, but usually what it is is movies and a kiss on the cheek. ( i'm fine with that though ^^ )

lets see....
first a nice romantic dinner then shopping & my BF gets me a whole outfit with matching earrings,necklace,and bracelet then takes me home. My dad asks me how it went and I just say "I loved it!".
