it`s spring and im making a flower garden.what should i use??

First, do not spade the area up early, that will cause caking and hardness to develope. And secondly, dont beat down or pulverize the soil with a rake to the point it looks like dust. Leave it humpy. Id say when ready to plant, simply add a bit of Michigan Peat to the top 4 inches of soil working that in along with a few handfulls of 10/10/10 for about that fertilizer.

First thing is to do is get soil tested. You can go to a garden center and buy one and follow the instructions. Or ask a someone to test for you. You will need to test for PH of the soil. Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorus. They will also come out in this form of letters "N" "P" "K" each one of these components will make up the needs of what flowers will be needing in growing. Also organic matter such as peat, compost and other organic needs to aerate soil and drain and hold water for your flowers. these are steps for you to enjoy by learning how to garden. Good luck
