Yes...because it's part of Latin America.

Latino generally refers to the Latin base of the Spanish language, and as I recall from visiting Belize (yes, I've been there), I don't remember anyone speaking Spanish. I just remember the very Cajun-sounding accent. Most everyone we encountered spoke English or some type of Cajun.

As someone else mentioned previously the skin color can be attributed to the slave traders that brought Africans over, and yes it did belong to the Dutch until rather recently, possibly the 1970's.

So, no Belizeans are not Latino.

Since Belize is in Central America, then in general, Belizeans could be considered Latino. However, since it was a Dutch colony for a long time (until the 1970's I believe), there might be people who live there who consider themselves something else.

Some is considered Latino if they live in Latin America (Belize is part of) or speak any of the Latin derived languages (ie Spanish).

Belize is a great example of a multi-culteral and racial society. I meet whites, blacks, latins, mayans, and all kinds of mixes down there. Some Amish too! No lie!

That sounds close to Brazilian, so in my crude method, you are actually a citizen of Brazil. Congrats!
