I heard it as a sophomore in high school so it was likely 97 but could have been a little before or after. It was a female singer with a voice simular to K's Choice (best known for "Not an Addict"). The lyrics I remember are "get in the car...and drive for miles and miles until you are at my door." She's talking to a friend or lover and encouraging them to come to her if things get too bad. I've been looking since 2000 or so so it's driving me nuts!

I don't know! But, 1997 was the best gosh darn year ever. I love that song by Kay's Choice! I hope you find it. You can type a lyrics string of it at either google.com or letssingit.com and it will pop up a list of songs. Good luck!
