I'm considering getting it done but I'm scared it's going to grow back darker and thicker. Has anyone ever gotten it done and what were the results like? Oh and I'm going to Florida in 5 days and will be out in the sun, so is it safe to tan after getting your arms waxed? Also, how long does the redness last? thanks!

i ve been waxing my arms for many years now...and if you go to a professional to do your waxing you will be very pleased with the results!
waxing NEVER does your hair thicker or darker. on the contrary it makes it softer, thinner, and less sparse.
waxing your arms doesnt hurt at all....its so easy and im pretty sure you wont regret it...after the waxing they will put u some kind of creme to moisturize it and ur arms will be so soft and shiny you ll love it.
as far as waxing and getting a tan later on, dont worry about it...usually they say that u shouldnt be out in the sun for one day or so, but that always depends on your skins sensitivity.....i can wax and go straight out for swimming...
but always use sunscreen...because if u have a lot of hair on ur arms, and your skin hasnt seen the sun for quite some time, you dont wanna get burned.
but in general, dont worry about the pain, or redness....nothing will happen...
its the less painful waxing you can get and you wont be able to stop waxing your arms after the first time....
your skin will appear so much softer because it exfoliates ate the same time (by removing the upper layer of dead cells of ur skin) and its actually good if you keep doing it cuz u ll hair will be much less at the end...
plus waxing lasts much much longer.
enjoy your self in florida and good luck!

1) No, waxing will not make the hair on your arms grow back darker or thicker. Repeated waxing weakens the hair follicles so the hair grows back finer or stops returning over time. Waxing is intended to pull the entire hair out. Sometimes, only the top part of a few hairs are sheared off so they have blunt tops & grow out like razor stubble.

2) Redness - lasts depending on your skin's sensitivity. You can sooth your skin w/ aloe vera gel.

3) Waxing removes a bit of the top layer of skin so you should avoid the sun 1-2 days afterwards & wear sunscreen to avoid sunburn.

well alright a lot of questions in one lol. just to get things clear hair wont grow back thicker and darker just because you pull it out. it's just a myth proven to be just that. ok I'll ans u one by one

ummm 1 I've gotten it done and your skin turns out very smooth after you've gotten all the hair removed

it's VERY good for you to wax then tan. if you tanned then wax you would be removing your tan a lot more early then you want it gone. In seventeen mag. i read that its always better to shave/wax THEN tan

I didnt get redness and i have sensitive skin. Just be careful with the wax you buy. I assume if your skin get red easily it would be gone in a matter or 20-30 minutes

The only thing that can make your hair grow back thicker and darker is hormones. It has nothing to do with waxing, shaving or plucking. Don't bother getting anything waxed, it totally hurts and it will totally grow back. Just shave. Seriously.

No it doesn't grow back darker or thicker, but it does grow back more blunt which can make it look a little different. Don't do it, bleach it first, the hair will never be the same.

I did it and I really liked it. It grew back thinner! The redness lasted about 2 days and it hurt like hell. I dont know about tanning because I don't tan, but I imagine it would be fine. It looked good.
