Personally, I don't think I could have an abortion. However, I do not feel that the Government should be involved in this decision. I believe that Roe v. Wade should stand and that the right to privacy is important. The decision of whether or not to carry a child should be up to the woman, especially in cases of rape.

I personally think that if you have sex you know there is the possibility of falling pregnant and if you do you should take responsibility for your actions. If you dont want a baby you either shouldn't have sex or should be very careful using every precaution possible. In the case of rape it is a very different story though and i think a councelor should be spoken too before a decision is made. You didn't make the decision to have sex so really you didn't ask to be pregnant.
I think anyone who is thinking about abortion really needs to talk to a non bias professional about it before making a decision because once its made there is no going back.
I could think of nothing worse than having an abortion because i was scared and frightend then regreting it and living with that for the rest of my life. But this is just my opinion.

Depends on why a woman is getting an abortion. If it's a case rape, incest, or the life of the mother is in danger, yes, it is more than understandable in my view.
However, if a couple, by activley having sex, gains an unwanted pregnancy, they have a moral obligation to either raise the child or adopt him out. If the father wants no involvement then I would definitly advise adoption.
I will also say that there is no such thing as an accidental pregnancy. Everyone knows the connection between sex and child birth and as humans we do have a choice whether we shack up or not.
That is my serious answer.

ooops i just read that you needed pro life answers...wellll
I am very Pro Choice. I don't think the government should have any say over a woman's body. I also think if men were the ones who could get pregnant abortion probably be more legal. I don't think it should be a form of birth control, but if you did everything you could not to get pregnant..condoms pills foam...how would you feel ending up pregnant? And what about all the babies born a vegatable and staying that way their whole lives..that is NOT a life you'd want to live. it's not even a life. And if the baby is in the womb of a meth addicted mom and it's gonna be messed up it's whole life that isn't fair to the baby either. Just my thoughts

I believe each situation is different, and therefore deserves every option available, including abortion. For some, abortion is not, and never will be an option. For others, it is the only feasible option. Many people hide behind ProLife, "except in situations of rape or incest". However, if you are truly ProLife- the circumstances of conception should not matter (a life is a life regardless of how it came to be). Only in these situations are the mother's feelings to be considered and the child's "life" disregarded? You are either ProLife or not. For me, each pregnancy, wanted or not, is unique and has its own set of circumstances that warrant the need for options. A person could use all the birth control in the world and still become pregnant. And being pregnant does mean that a person is willing or able to carry that fetus to term in a healthy manner (especially if it is unwanted) in order to place for adoption. If is far better for the unborn child and mother to terminate early in order to avoid further health risks and complications due to lack of care either because of finances, lack of motivation to seek prenatal care, mental illness or depression brought on by the unwanted pregnancy, drug abuse or alcohol use by the mother prior to knowing she was pregnant or after knowing and not caring because she is unable to control the addiction and so unhealthy to bond with the unborn fetus. The lack of support for these women only adds to the necessity of giving them the option to abort so that we don't contribut further to their decline or instigate a decline of a thriving young woman. And what about the father? Nobody talks about his responsibility in this issue. Perhaps if there were more men willing to step up and be responsible, women would feel they had support enough to continue the pregnancy and carry to term. Yet, you hear more of the fathers encouraging women to abort. More than just the victims of incest and rape need these options. All women should be treated equally, as should all of the fetuses. They are ALL lives, or they are NOT. Whichever you believe, I think it should be consistent throughout- you shouldn't get to pick and choose who gets forgiven and who gets condemned. Good luck with your paper.

well i feel that thats the most meanest thing ever. if you spread your legs and then turn up pregnant its your job to keep that baby and raise that baby to a women or a man. Why get and abortion. its killing something that hasnt done nothing to you. honestly i wish no one ever got an abortion there killing a little baby and thats sad. B/c to think about it what if your mother got an abortion. you wouldnt be here right now living life. so let that baby have enough life as you do.

I think that is a choice that should be taken very seriously. It Shouldn't be used as a woman's form of birth control. sometimes there are situations in which a baby is not right for a woman or family, but consideration should have been taken before hand concerning this matter. Practicing safe sex should always, always take place.
Yes there are times that birth control fails, but still it is the responsibility of both parties to be responsible & considerate in making this decision.

I don't think people should rush to have a blanket answer for being for or against abortion. Each situation is independent and each person as a different set of morals to influence the decision process. I feel that there are strong arguments for and against abortion but the best answer is the one a person can live with if a situation presents itself to them.

I think Abortion is kinda wrong but if people are going to go do it i rather see them do and put the babbys cell to something like the stem cell research or somethng usefull then just killing the poor thing but the way i think of it is that you cant change someone mind about abortions but you may be able to help them make there mind up about useing the babbys cells for stem cell research then put to wast.
