Just as there are many kinds of needs that we face, there are many ways that we look at someone as a friend.
Some say that a friend will stand beside you no matter what the problem, others will say that it is a friend who will accept you as you are and at no matter what the cost.

When that friend stands beside you without passing judgment on you. Is willing to go the extra mile with you.
For me being willing to Love the friend without having to need something in return is important.

" Love you without condition or measure, a very hard thing to do.
But if you are willing to set the "example " of what friendship is and what you give will be returned Seven times Seven in the end.

True friends will stay with you for years and will always be there for you, no matter what. They don't try to hurt you in any kind of way, and always try to lend a helping hand. I'm not sure how old you are; but once you get into college you'll get the idea, and you will probably only have two or three.

Well theres a guide line to friendship that all must follow. Never ever date the person your friend
has or had a crush on
Has gone out with.
Always choose your friend over your boyfriend.
Be there when times are tough or sweet,
And listen, dont just wait for your turn to talk.

If your friend does all that, then they are a true friend.

A true friend is not someone there just for fun times, but
someone who stands by you during the hard ones too. Someone
you can trust and who trusts you with complete honesty, because you know right or wrong you'll be there for each other. True friends have your best interest at heart, and accepts you for who you are.

Poetic form?

A true friend is always there
when you cry,
the offer a shoulder and care
when your hurt and mope a round
they'll turn that frown upside down,
they are never a guest in your home
they like to laugh and like to roam
they make you laugh they make you smile
the two of you having fun all the while,
they'll always help you with your troubles
there friendship is like an unburstable bubble

Help at all?

Well, I think a true friend is someone that's alike yourself. One that can keep your secrets, one that can make you laugh-when you don't want to laugh. Someone that can finish your sentence for you. Or perhaps someone that you like spending time with.
But I also think that if one of your 'friends' can't except you for who you are, don't change just so they will like you because maybe some of your other friends won't like the new you.
But its up to you to decide who's your true friend and who's not.
-Hope this helps-

a true friend is there when you need them (and vice versa). when you need help on a problem and they go out of their way to help you. if they ignore you, don't lend a few bucks for lunch etc, they are probably not your friend.

a real friend is hard to find. they will stick up for you, help you out and hang out with you.

but you have to be the same for them.
