No because goldfish are cold freshwater fish and their organs are specially designed to take in fresh water. If you put them in saltwater I believe that they would dehydrate and die. The same goes for a saltwater lake.

No, they cannot live in actual marine aquarium or seawater saltwater. They do, however, benefit from a certain amount of salt in their freshwater. They get the most benefit from about 1 tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons.
Do not add more salt when you just "top off" your tank due to water evaporation, salt does not evaporate. You must, however, add salt at the above ratio when you remove water yourself to do your weekly 30-40% water change.
The salt helps the fish with gill function and inhibits many of the bacteria and parasites that prey upon goldfish.

They can handle a 9% salt solution, but its not recommended. I don't use any salt in my goldfish tank. Only to medicate, then its back to no salt. Too much salt too quickly can burn the gills. They couldn't live in a saltwater tank meant for ocean fish, they will die (or be eaten).

they can be in salt water for like a little while to kill an infection or some sort of fungus so the salt kills it.

I've seen them live as long as 30 seconds, before a triggerfish inhaled him.

no, however if you can add a bit of aquarium salt (for fresh water, not marine tanks) to their water. supposedly helps fight disease.
