If itunes does not have album art for my cd how do i add it myslef?

highlight a song or album,
press info in the menu bar,
go to artwork
then press add
and import an image of the album cover you found online
or just a pic of the artist

Just a little tip....when you go to find the pictures try and keep them small (under 10kb) so it doesn't eat up all your space. If you search for the pictures on the internet you can sort them so it will only show the smaller sized ones.

First Copy or Cut whatever artwork you wish to add then
Right click your song~Get Info~Artwork~Add
