My class is having a biography day next month, but I need a person by tomorrow. I need some ideas for a famous women in history. They have had to give back to the community.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta (India): She and her sisters sacrificed their lives for the indigents dying on the streets of Calcutta.

Jane Adams: She came from a moderately wealthy family in Chicago and she used whatever resources she had to improve the lives of those living in the slums.

Golda Meir: She was raised in the Midwest and she and her husband migrated to Israel and they worked tirelessly to build a nation. She later became Prime Minister.

Eleanor Roosevelt: Married to FDR, the 32nd President of the US. Mother of 6 and after her husband was stricken with polio, she became "his feet". She was fearless in her pursuit of social justice; for Labor, Blacks and women.

Fannie Lou Hamer: A Black woman from Mississippi who devoted her life to human rights for people of color in Mississippi. She was a Voice to be reckoned with at the 1968 Democratic Convention. She based her actions on the belief that the Gospel of Christ is revolutionary and so was Jesus.
