If your looking for the best character developing RPG games, look into Fable, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, and Jade empire for x-box. Elder Scrolls Oblivion for 360, and then coming out for the 360 is the largest RPG ever made called Mass Effect, look into that, it will be sweet! good gaming.

First off, runescape is a waste of your life. Never play again. EVER. Now diablo 2 is probably the best free rpg you can buy. Made by blizzard who made WoW, biggest mmorpg out right now.

well if you have a good pc the elder scrolls series is great, my personal favorites are morrowind and oblivion. If you have an xbox or ps2 the game "fable" is good, its not as hardcore rpg as elder scrolls but its a good way to get introduced to the rpg series.
