I think this is an age old question. Most people that are happy in their lives are accepting of other's lifestyles, but people that are dissatisfied will always find fault in others. Personally I couldn't give a rip, as long as children, pets, and anything else isn't abused in the process of 'loving them'. It's not my choice, or born desire, but that doesn't mean it's bad or wrong if the person, or other adult, is a consenting informed participant.
There is so much hate in the world now, this shouldn't even be an issue, but sadly were are taught to be fearful of differences amongst us.
Create joy with kindness and respect, and remember that no one is flawless!

I'm not so presumptuous or arrogant to think I can speak for the collective "society", but as far as how I "feel" about the subject? I and most friends I have don't really care who people sleep with. As a libertarian, what goes on in your bedroom is your business. What you do to your body, whether it be altering it to conform to your inner belief or even disfiguring it for whatever reason, is also the individuals choice and no one elses. At least I HOPE thats how most people feel, since I feel its the most tolerant and rational.

I dont think like "Death to the queers" or anything.. but i do disagree with homosexuality, bisexuality, and sex changes... if someone is born a hermophrodite its not their fault. I dont believe any of this crap about "their born gay" because, NO it is a choice. I see no reason to hate them. I am a christian so i believe homosexuality, and bisexuality is a sin, but i have been taught my whole life "love the sinner, hate the sin" and just because you hate what someone does gives you NO right to hate the person. I personally couldn't be friends with someone like that because I can't get along with people with drastically different morals and ideals as me... but thats my own stubbornness. I say that we should be nice to them while they are on earth because i believe 100% that, unless they make their peace with God, the will go to hell and there is no reason to not show them the love we can while they are here on earth if they are going to suffer an eternity in hell. AGAIN there is no hate in my mind towards homosexuals or bisexuals or transgender people, i just hate the way they are.

Society's views on them are based on many stereotypes that don't have much truth to them. For example, gay men wanting to hit on heterosexual men or having anal sex while getting and spreading AIDS. Lesbians tend to be the fantasy of many heterosexual men, despite the fact that not all of them are sex crazy women who look like super models. Transgender people seem to be the worse of it, mainly being treated as their birth sex even if they go through with the changes. For example, a transwoman being treated as a deviant man.

As for my own views, not much to really say besides accepting them and fitting within the trasngender people part.
