I have an nVidia 7600GT with an nVidia 680i motherboard. I've never seen it get over 70C even after hours of Half life 2.

Idle temp is about 50c, with load about 70-80c all depending on how well ventilated the case is. Your temp is perfectly fine.

My 8800GTX temp is 30c idle & about 42c with full load (on water)

Many modern graphics cards are designed to operate as high as 90C, 70C for a card with its original cooling is pretty good. Still high for my tastes, but they're designed to be that hot.

the shutting down is led to via over heating maximum in all risk...attempt to earnings if any airborne dirt and mud or something is clogging up the board...and notice if your followers are truly doing the job as predicted

your card is card is doing fine 70c is not so hot
