there really isnt a "normal" but the average is 7-8 hours, if you're lucky to get that much ;-)

It's different, considering your age and condition. A healthy, middle-aged individual with a regular sleeping habit would generally need anywhere between 8-9 hours of sleep to be fully "recharged" if you will. Younger children, perhaps under the age of 14, would generally need to sleep a little more; about up to 10 hours a night. However, everybody is different. Some only need maybe around 6 hours to feel awake, but this does not necessarily mean they have fully recovered from their previous day. It all depends on the events that had occurred the day before, how you slept, and other factors. But just in general, the average would be approximately 7 hours.

I think I heard on a matress comercial that it is 7 hours, but when your young i was always told like in school that 9 and if u can 10 hours is the best.
