Only 'cause he scored more than 50 points per game the past week, don't mean that he the best. If u think that's true, go to NBA.com, go to players, and find out their stats.

It's sad to see so many people acting like little kids throwing around the term "ballhog" as if they even knew what it meant. Kobe is a shooting guard, which means it's his job to score, and most people haven't seen him play or else they'd see him constantly pass to Bynum who loses the ball, or Smush who misses. But anyways, back to your question, no, Kobe is not second to anyone in the NBA right now. He is above everyone else. The 2nd best is either Duncan, Nash, or LeBron. They all lack 1 or 2 qualities that keep them from being the best, whether it be defense, clutch ability, or a wide range of offensive abilities.

Kobe is the best scorer in the league. And that is the thing that most people look at. Kobe has many weak points: he's a dirty player, he's not a shut down defensive player and he isn't a good leader. He is one of the best if not the best scorer in the NBA history but that doesn't mean there aren't parts missing....like he will never be as clutch as Jordan or as big of a defensive threat as Ben Wallace. You can't say who the best player is because there is no player in the league who is great at everything but the most versatile players in the league would have to be Kobe, KG, and Tmac

Wow you need to learn how to talk there "playa". Of course Kobe is the second best player in the NBA, the best is LeBron James.
Enough with all the Kobe questions. The Final Four is in 4 days, Rasheed Wallace just made the most clutch and lucky shot of the year, and all I hear is "Yo, am Kobe da best playa in da Nba, cuz i thinkz he be".

He is number 1. Noone in the MVP doesnt have a team like Kobe and Kobe is keeping them into the playoffs. He has hothands and been on fire and which they are winning right now. If you lead a talent-less team of lakers that has potential to have number 1 pick back to back if Kobe left. This guy having back to back 30 point season and closing to win the scoring title and leading his team, they are in 6th spot and still have it even though they were on the 8th game drought
