Sometimes they only put a strip of adhesive on one part of the bottle, so the easiest way is probably to take a knife or scissors and cut it all the way through so that you can rip it off. If you are trying to get the adhesive completely off, I suggest soaking it in warm water so that you can scrape it off easier, or you could remove it with Goo Gone.

Soak in Hot Water until it gets loose. Then Take Alcohol to remove the sticky glue that's left. I have also heard that hairspray will take of the glue, ?

Use a hot air gun or a hair dryer on high heat. It peels right off. I do this at work all the time. Any stickiness can be removed with rubbing alcohol.

Apply salad oil to label and allow to soak in. If necessary repeat. Sometimes I use butter or peanut butter... anything oily. Much cheaper than Goo Gone which also works very well.
