see, there are a lot of opinion questions on P&S...so when people get like thumbs down for expressing their opinions, it bothers me...just cuz you dissagree, doesnt mean that its bad or wrong
like there was this one question " are you a vegetarian" and some people who are vegetarians got like thumbs down...just for saying that they were! its not like they were trying to convert people into vegetarians...so that bothered me. (not because im a vegetarian) -- i didnt hand out any thumbs down to people who were like "i love my meat" (i did give a thumbs down to this person who was like "lets kill pigs" but that was just inhumane)
basically: does this annoy you? when do you hand thumbs down/ up?? and am i just taking this too seriously? (am i being wierd again?)

Well, I see it as a way of letting some one know they disagree with their opinion. Some people feel strongly about their opinions, and if they see an answer that differs from their beliefs, they have the freedom to express it. I usually use the thumbs down when someone asks for advice and I see something that I believe to be bad advice. I also use it when I see something outrageously sick (unless I can tell it's just a joke). As far as giving a thumbs down for someone answering "Yes" to a yes or no question... Well, I think that's just childish. But people are like that. I guess meat eaters are afraid the world is going to turn vegetarian, and they have to defend their meat? Don't let it get to you, just give someone a thumbs up if you feel they didn't deserve a thumbs down!
