If you had prearranged for somebody to pick you up on a certain day, and they were booked for speeding on their way to picking you up, then who should pay the fine? They insist that you should, as they were on their way to picking you up. You say that the pick-up was arranged to the day before, and therefore you are not responsible for their speeding. What do you guys think?

The person who was cited for speeding has to pay the fine. It is not your fault that the person who was picking you up did not give themselves enough time to get to your location.

You could offer to pay it for them, but you are not required to do so.

You should also find someone else to be picking you up, this person does not sound very mature and reliable.

the person driving is responsible for their actions.
just because it was prearranged your not responsible fo their actions. A person can speed, rob a bank, or hurt someone breaking the law has nothing to do with giving you a ride
