a guy on our construction crew is getting divorced. it doesnt really matter who's fault it was, but since he didnt do something extreme or violent, why does he still get taken to the cleaners and get his whole life ruined. why do women just kille guys in court during a divorce. makes single guys like me never want to get married

Because they enter the marriage as equal earners, then somewhere along the line she decides to go off the pill and has a kid, then another. Then WAA WAA "I'm too stressed to work. Then he comes home and has the kids dumped on him, WAA WAA "I'm too stressed to be home with the kids." WAA WAA"You don't make enough money to get me a cleaning person".
He works more, wife thinks "WORK" is party time. Husband spends more time working until he has had enough.
Divorce, lawyer he pays for cleans him out, judge says pay $$$$ child support because princess can't/has not worked.
He gets screwed.
Do you know why divorce is so expensive?
Because it is worth it!

You say it doesn't matter who was at fault, but the court disagrees with you strongly. However, you are right that the women get almost whatever they want in divorces. The reason for that is the archaeic laws that still exist in today's society.
Women have fought for equal rights and equal pay and all that other stuff, and the laws have accomodated them. However, the court system in divorce cases still don't see it that way. According to the way laws are configured, the man is still the provider for the house and the woman is the caretaker.
It is the only thing that women refuse to fight for equal rights on, because then they would be losing something the way men lose jobs because a company has to have a certain number of female employees. Men can't fight for equal rights, because men are already seen as the dominant sex in all aspects even though they really aren't any more.

because the feminist got rid of fault divorced and implemented no fault divorces, now a women can cheat on a man and still get 50% of his estate plus income ( for alimony and then there is child support ) and usally child custody ( even if she was a cheating whore.. as that is not a factor )..
with those "eqaul protections" for women men usally pay as the court systems are verociously stacked against men in all apsect.
Listen to Tom Leykas and you hear all you need to hear about why a man should never get married and the lack of any benefit with it.

Depends on what has happened in the relationship, what state you live in and what the conditions are in the pre-nup if there was one, any number of reasons. The bottom line is that if you feel that you can work out an equitable settlement, that is the best way to do it.
If you are single and thinking about only the financial risks to the marriage - then you are not ready to be married.

Dad got it right. Never leave your house.Never use violence to settle a dispute or the local law will make you leave and this will make things harder later.This is really hard to do but try to be as nice as possible through out the process.Don't cause conflict and try to work with the woman as much as possible so that you might get to keep something.If you pi$$ her off before settling any agreement she is going to fight you all the way.

This happens on both ends of the spectrum. I was married for 20 years to my ex husband and I helped pay off the house and build a buisness. I lost everything when he met another woman and used violence against me to get me to move out instead of telling me the truth. He kept the house and buisness the year we were separated and I had no money to fight him in court.

Your a smart man its just not worth it today . Allot of these guys are ignorant to there woman tells them to go and they go then the court looks at them like they abandoned the family. Never ever leave your home just because a woman told you to . Its yours as much as it is there's

sorry. not ALL women are that way.
when i got a divorce..we were married for 7 years..he put himself thro school..worked very hard..and made an exellent living... when I chose to walk away...it was my decision..and i left with nothing that wasnt mine...i gave him the house..he gave me the car..i took NO cash that i didnt earn..other then childsupport for our children!
i believe that WHO ever choses to leave..unless theres been violence or infidelity...gets only whats theres..
i dont take what i didnt earn...and HE and i are great friends..BC i didnt go for the throut when i left..
thats just MY story..so u know..some women dont do those things..

because the "victimized and oppressed" wants money and knows how to get it...
there is no other reason..it is BASED on selfishness..
this is her revenge on him for "making her life a living hell"
