when your cycle first begins, your body has a lot of adjusting to do. Many, many girls have very irregular periods for months or even a couple years before settling into a routine. The length and heaviness will also be variable. Most of the reason for this is that you sometimes will not ovulate during your first couple years, and that greatly affects the hormone levels that control your cycles. As long as you don't have excessive pain or constant spotting, you are probably in the normal zone.

Call your doctor's nurse for more info... You probably don't need to go in, but it never hurts to ask...

If you just started your period (for the first time) then it's normal to miss a month or even a few. After maybe a year or two you should start getting your period on a regular basis. It you've had your period for more than 2 years and you're sexually active, then you could be pregnant.

That happened to me when I first got my period. It never came back for about 3 months but then came regularly after that. I think its just your body adjusting to hormone change. Enjoy it now because period days suck!!!

A beginner's is very... shaky. I know a person, she was beginning, then after 2 periods, it stopped for 3 months, and it came back again. It was somewhere around there. Have you asked your mom?

It'll be back. Periods are often irregular at first. This is completely NORMAL at this point. Keep your mom informed, because she'll know what's not normal, and if she's not worried, you can relax.

If you've only had one period, then it is normal for them to skip and be irregular. Sometimes until your late teens. Don't worry. This is very new to your body.
