Where can I find a decent chart online showing what waste inches match up with what Jean size?

find the brand's website and i'm sure they'll have a size chart. every brand fits a little differently.

Here is one I found on overstock.com

GOOD LUCK!

Here are some typical/standard measurements for different sizes, but be aware that this will vary from retailer to retailer.
The measurements relate to the fullest part of the bust, smallest part of the waist and largest part of the hips/buttocks:

Size 0: 31-23-33
Size 2: 32-24-34
Size 4: 33-25-35
Size 6: 34-26-36
Size 8: 35.5-27.5-37.5
Size 10: 37-29-39
Size 12: 38.5-30.5-40.5
Size 14: 40-32-42
Size 16: 42-34-44

As for jeans that go by waist size, it's usually a couple of inches more than your natural waistline as jeans usually sit lower than that. So if you are usually a size 8 with a 27-28 waistline, then you will probably need a 29-30.

Hope this helps : )

its kinda hard to answer that question. because your measurments are from your chest, stomach and your butt. so nobody can answer that except the measuring tape. see i'm size 5 but i'm 32/22/34 and somebody else thats a size 5 can be a 38,26,34 or something! thats why like in american eagle they have size 5 regular, or 5 tall. because it can also deal with your height too.

i found a chart too:

BUST: X.Small=28-30 Small:31-34 Medium:36-38 Large:40-42 etc...

CENTER BACK NECK TO CUFF: X.Small=27-271/2 Small:28-28 1/2 Medium=29-29 1/2 Large=30-30 1/2

BACK WAIST LENGTH: X.Small= 16 1/2 Small= 17 Medium=17 1/2 Large=18

CROSS BACK(SHOULDER TO SHOULDER): X.Small:14-14 1/2 Small:14 1/2-15 Medium:16- 16 1/2
Large: 17-17 1/2

SLEEVE LENGTH TO UNDERARM: X.Small: 16 1/2 Small:17 Medium:17 Large:17 1/2

you could probably do a search for a chart, but there's no consistency between brands. I read that there's talk in the fashion industry to try to standardize it, but it hasn't happened yet. Just find a pair you have that fit well and measure the waist.

it all really depends on the store.

the best thing to do is get your measurements first.
then go to the store's online website. they ALWAYS have sizing charts there.
