It's not ideal, but if you already are pregnant just be sure not to gain too much throughout your pregnancy. Your OB/gyn will keep an eye on you, but you'll do just fine hon. Best of luck to you! Take care!

Yea, overweight women get pregnant and have babies every day. However, my friend was put on a very strict diet while pregnant because she was considered obese. She ate alot of healthy foods instead of junk foods per orders from her OB.
Being extremely overweight is hard on your heart, not to mention the strain being pregnant puts on it. This was the reasoning for her to watch her weight during her pregnancy.
She gained nothing during her pregnancy and weighed less after she had the baby than she did prior to pregnancy. The docs were fine with that because she was already heavy. its different for everyone and each OB is different as well. Because with her second child, her OB changed nothing. She gained about 45 pounds, and was still obese when she got pregnant. So, it just depends.
Good luck to u and best wishes for a happy healthy baby!

I would say yes. I am overweight because of my first pregnancy. I wasnt before that.

The only thing for my previous pregnancy i got gestational diabetes cause i put on too much weight too quickly. Also had fluid retention.

Now i am pregnant again 2.5 years later and overwight. I have only put on 1 kg and i am 4 months pregnant. SO i think i must have lost weight cause i am eating well. Have spoken to the doc about this and there is nothing to worry about.

Good luck, look after yourself and your baby

If not there would be darn few kids being born. Have you looked out there lately. Almost everyone you see is overweight to a certain extent. I would say that being grossly obese would pose a danger but a few pounds don't seem to hurt. Expect lots of stretch marks though, since as your belly stretches, the fat is pulled apart to make room and the resulting marks never go away.

there isn't something you're able to do to shrink weight now. in view which you began out obese, you do not might desire to benefit the cautioned 25-30 pounds, merely 15-20 counting on your weight. being pregnant isn't the time to shrink weight, you may desire to benefit weight once you're pregnant, it particularly is the two healthful and accepted. All you're able to do is consume healthily and stay lively and take a inspect to not benefit any greater suitable weight which you do not choose. strolling is super in the time of being pregnant, to boot as swimming and cycling. Staying lively is the final element you're able to do, yet staying healthful might desire to be the objective, not dropping weight. As difficult because it particularly is, you're merely going to might desire to come to words with the burden your at and settle for which you will get heavier. yet once you're making clever possibilities and function solid workout and eating conduct, diverse it is going to easily be the infant, fluid, placenta, greater suitable breast tissue- the type of weight which you will lose right this moment following the beginning (to boot the breasts of course!) yet another area observe approximately workout - you do not prefer to artwork out to the element to exhaustion and you do not prefer to get too warm, the two are very undesirable for you and the infant once you're pregnant.

It's ok, I don't see why over-weight women can't have children?
But, there are higher health risks, just like someone with advanced maternal age having a baby.
