I agree with the fact that you get more bang for your buck with getting a Zune. I bought my Zune and here's why:
1. bigger screen
2. scratch-resistant, durable
3. feels nice in the palm of your hand, really
4. has a nice UI design (way better than ipod)
5. has wi-fi feature so you can send songs & pics to other Zunes
6. has built-in FM tuner
7. you can change the background picture for the whole menu system
8. Zune software has a subscription feature so you can download a lot for 1 flat price
9. can integrate with the Xbox 360
10. you can view videos and some pics in landscape mode (on it’s side) so you just turn it on it’s left side (makes it great for watching videos)
11. you can get 14 day free-trial for Zune Marketplace
12. has the newest and latest technology
They should probaly offer video and movies around sometime soon, this year is most likely. I already found a neat shortcut for finding downloading YouTube videos for Zune for free. If you need any more help, you can contact me. Good luck.

1.) Soon. Zune is getting permission from the Music Industry to incorporate its DRM (digital rights management) into videos.
2.) Go with the Zune. Zune offers much more. Unlimited downloads for $15 per month, bigger screen, sharing capabilities, live radio, personalized background images, (what more could you want?) Zune is also upgradable (you can check for updates constantly).
iPods are also not as PC freindly anymore. iTunes will not accept PC based DRMs, and does not have unlimited downloads (you pay per song 99 cents) iPods won't work with Vista easily and are getting pushed out of the PC world everyday.
Go with the Zune, I took back my iPod for one....

Neither, get one of the iAudio models from Cowon.
They all come with FM radio receivers and microphones, whereas you'd need to buy extra accessories to do that with an iPod, and can play more file formats. They have a full range from small flash memory-based players to ipod-style hard drive-based models, and you don't need to use special software with them, you can if you want to, but you can also just drag and drop files from a file manager.
Even though the ipod and zune are the only things you see advertised, there are other products from companies like Sandisk, Creative, iRiver, etc that are just as good or better in a lot of ways.
