Yes you can write in second person. Rod Serling of Twilight Zone fame did it quite well. There are problems with any voice that you choose. Remember if you are writing in first person, you are limiting what information other characters can have. They can only know things that they were told by the narrator or things they witness. One of the biggest problems you see is POV violation. If you are writing in first person, you also limit yourself in what you can say about the other characters' thoughts and emotions, because they arent the narrator. You can really only write what the narrator thinks or feels. Inexperienced writers get that wrong all the time. Personally I prefer to write in third person, changing my POV in different chapters by writing through the eyes of different characters. I find that the most interesting and also the most informative. Pax - C.

It depends what the story is about. I like all of those for different stories but when I write it's usually in 1st person. I'd LOVE to write something in second person though.

I'd need more details on what the story is about.

EDIT: I think any of those would work for a BoT type story, but I'm leaning toward 3rd person because you can have an omnipotent (is that the right word?) perspective or see things from both sides.

It depends. Most fiction is either written in the 1st or 3rd person pov, because 2nd person is really quite difficult to do, although it has been done. An example would be the old "Choose Your Own Adventure" books. Personally, I like 1st or 3rd person, depending on the story/topic.

I like third person best because I like to explore all of the different characters, their feelings, and even their motives for doing certain things. First person is nice for some stories but it can get boring and leave you one sided there tends to be more description about inner conflict and how they see and feel about things and that can get really monotonous. Sometimes that makes me just want to skim ahead so that I can get to some action. I'm now trying to remember what second person is. it's using words like we and you, right? I don't think that would make a good book.

I like second person best, mostly because so few (relatively speaking) writers use it. Second person makes the story more personal, more interesting, and more challenging.

for a book that's bridge to terebithia esque i'd stick to 3rd or first person. usually 3rd. yes you can wrte a book in 2nd person, but it'll be really confusing!!! and pretty tricky.

I only like 1st.... 3rd person usually means the hero will die at the end.
