My sister one day went to my room and grabbed my IPOD. She went to a party and her friend (who I will call Lisa) took the IPOD without my sister’s consent. Lisa later admitted that she just “borrowed the IPOD” and that she would return it. However, she never did.

She has made up three different stories as to what happen. Bottom line, because she is a minor I don’t know how to legally get my IPOD back. I don’t know her last name but I know that she attends the same classes at my sister’s middle school.

HELP

Regardless of the transfer of the IPOD…that IPOD is my property and it is in the possession of that minor. I gave her 5 days to return it and she hasn’t done that so far.

Call the cops and fill out a report. Tell them your story and they will go to the girls parents. They will be responsible for getting or reimbursing you for the IPOD

If she attends school with your sister, it should not be difficult to find out her last name. Have your parent(s) call her parent(s) and simply tell them what is going on. You should have no problem getting your ipod back. In the future, I suggest you have your ipod engraved with your name.

regardless of age someone will be held responsible...i would contact the parents first and describe the situation. Usually parents will enforce what is right without no problems or pull out the"belt."(Tree branch or cable depending on location.)

It's a reportable offense. Teachers are mandated reporters. See the jd's teacher.

Ask for it back nicely.
If she refuses, ask the parents nicely.
If they are nonchalant about the whole thing, talk to her teacher and then the principle.

Don't give up. But act rationally.

What is the problem here?

You sister knows her friends last name. Demand she tell it to you, and then call that girl's parents.

However, your sister should save her friend the embarrassment by just calling her friend herself.
