the law is the law, and in most places 18 years is minimal. i can't imagine why a parent would consent to that. and why you would marry someone that is 4 years older - at least wait until your 20's.
you can't fall in love quickly, love isn't instant - it builds, you lust after the person probably due to the viriginity removal.
you don't have the money for marriage. for godsakes, have you even graduated yet?
she would get in trouble by the way, and the fact that she's having sex with a minor would land her into much more hot water than the marriage.
when you asked your dad about this - did you tell him you plan to buy the house tommorow? and get married around the same time? and it's doubtful you'll find a job that pays well enough so that a 16 year old can afford a house (you couldn't even sign the papers at that age). let alone get a good job without graduation.
if you really love this girl, and she loves you back, then you'll both be willing to wait for several more years when your both mature enough to understand what love actually is. and how the real world works financially.

Anthony,
I don't know why you feel you need to hurry up and get married, even if you found "the one". You are still very, very, very young for such a HUGE and life-long commitment.
You need time to PLAY and enjoy life FREELY without obligations to a woman and kids that will definetly be coming soon.
You need time to finish school, have your guy buddies to get in trouble with, time to go to college and get a REAL job, not some construction or fast food job.
You legally cannot buy a house yet unless you have a co-signer or your name simply won't be on the title.
I don't understand why you think you're a grown man ready to put on the shoes of a grown man when you're just a kid. I know teenagers HATE HATE HATE hearing that because I was one not very long ago, and I have 5 younger brothers, and one is your age, but it's the truth.
You more than likely have a deep crush and obsession over this young lady, and especially if you've been having sex (big no-no) then you'll have an extra huge pull and connection and place for her in your heart. That does NOT mean that you should marry her. If she got pregnant the baby should go up for adoption and you two should split up. This is a very dangerous situation you're in and you don't even know it.
Good luck and I really hope someone with sense that you trust sets you on the straight path. Obviously your parents haven't done a good job thus far.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!! If you REALLY love this girl, be with her, but there is no reason to get married! Wait! Give yourself time to grow up! You may think right now that you are ready and that you can handle all the responsibility, but it is much harder than you think! You are 16! What kind of job can you get that will actually pay the bills? Honestly, I am not trying to be rude!! If your father had an ounce of intelligence he would NEVER allow this to happen!
I suggest you go sleep with someone else! SERIOUSLY! Maybe then you will realize that it isn't necessarily love as much as it is lust. Besides that, most adult men will tell you, the sex will stop as soon as you say "I do"!!! Think about this!!! You have a really long life in front of you! Slow down a little and experience what it has to offer!

First of all getting a job (especially one at the age of 16) does not by any standard mean you can afford your own house. Houses cost tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars, depending on where you plan on buying it. But regarding getting married to a 20 year old in West Virginia, it IS legal if you have your parents consent. Below I have posted a quote out of the website noted:
"The age of consent for marriage for both the male and the female is eighteen years of age. The clerk of the county commission may issue a marriage license to an applicant who is under the age of eighteen but sixteen years of age or older if the clerk obtains a valid written consent from the applicant's parents or legal guardian."
There is a little more information on the website, so go to it and read the section under "Age of Consent"

Ok honestly man i can't tell you what you should do im in a similar situation but vice versa my wife is 18 and im 21 we got married when i was 20 and she was 17 depending on the state really depends whether she would get in trouble or not but i do know that if your parents give permisson than she wouldn't get in trouble but you also have to think are you ready for this?? i mean marriage is a big step and you should be financially stable before you jump into it. your still young my best advice to you is to be 100 percent positive that this is what you want before you do it and well at 16 you really don't know exactly what you want trust me man wait untill your a little older before you make a life changing decision like that

First of all, wat's the rush??? You're only 16. Can't you wait a few more years? you're not even legal to do anything yet? i dont' understand why people rushes things. It's not like if you guys don't get marry, you guys will never get to. I've been with my boyfriend for 4 years now and i love him to death, but I know we're both are not ready yet. Until we can buy a house, until we finish school, until we're mature enough, then we're going to get marry. No wonder there are so many divorces out there!! Cuz everyone just want to get marry...

I'm pretty sure you can get married if you have your parent's consent. But why do you want to? You aren't even out of high school, couldn't possibly have a college education, how are you going to get a job to buy a home? Homes are expensive!!!
You have a life ahead of you that should involve proms, college years and dating lots of different women. Why do you want to settle down now? Life is short and you are young enjoy it now.

Dude...you f...ing 16! You are a kid!!! You don't have the experiences of an adult! This chick is a big loser if she is dating a kid...and yes she can get in trouble for a minor. West Virginia is a trash state. I lived there for a little bit. What are you going to do when she is out partying at the bars all the time and you are stuck at home! hahahaha. What a sad chick.....she can't date someone her own age! What a loser!!!!

it's possible you can with parents consent, but
at 16 you can't be sure it's real love.
even older people can't at times.
she wouldn't get in trouble if she has your parents consent, but you need to think about it more, your talking about the rest of your life, if you think your really in love.
marridge is supposed to be forever.
i know that doesn't always happen but should, so cut down on divorce rate and don't get married yet.
you should wait a few years.
