Yes. Many who are psychic vampires don't even realize that they are. It is the ones who know how to use these powers that you have to worry about. If you would like to find a way to handle them, there is a great book called The Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense.
It talks about how to spot a psychic vampire through the use of their words, and how you can go about gently handling them or even confront them.

I believe I have. I used to volunteer for a nursing home. It was really a great place, but when I came home I always felt completely drained. It was unlike anything I've ever felt before. I would have to sleep as soon as I came home and the rest of the day I was left feeling extremely groggy. I had absolutely no energy. It was horrible! My doctor had no idea what was wrong with me, and after loads of testing my condition still wasn't known. I had read that psychic vampires are common among the elderly. Most of them don't realize what they are doing, but their body desperately needs the energy. Looking back I realize that I had many of the symptoms of a psychic vampire attack. I don't participate in the program anymore and I'm happy to say that has never happened to me again!

Oh, yeah! Plenty of them out there, but you can protect yourself. Learn how to cast a psychic shield and they shouldn't be able to penetrate it to drain your energy. There's alot more to it, like the Law of Rebound (A greater force will always rebound a lesser power), but it is a good start.
