The Senate voted just as expected, Bush will veto any such bill coming across his desk and no, the troops will not be coming home anytime soon. This has all been a bunch of political posturing, each party trying to make the other look bad and wasting the public's time. The spending bill for the troops will be passed without the bribes(pork) and maybe then Congress will stop the political BS.

I agree about the spending the money in the right place. Schooling, housing and repairs.

This war needs to be handled correctly.
Ideally, the Iraqi government needs to hold onto the reins of governing the country now.
You would think with the election over for such a long time, they would be ready. If they are not, then when would they be?

The troops need to come home gradually. Not too soon.
That's the only responsible thing to do.

he's now no longer a bleeding coronary heart that needs to artwork out us of a defeated. He sees that a unfastened and robust Iraq is a key step in a extra robust sturdy center East. he's acquainted with that if we circulate away, one thousand's of thousands will die and Iraq will advance to a extra robust probability. he's acquainted with that we will not settle for defeat, tuck tail and run. He sees the form and is acquainted with that doing the suitable suitable ingredient purely isn't the known ingredient. no one needs to be living house better effective than troops, yet we choose for a victory - shall we desire to circulate away Iraq in a state of maintain practices - now no longer chaos. If we pull out too at as quickly as, actual civil conflict will erupt and we'd in all probability be lower back there indoors a year - to a extra robust deadly Iraq. we will not grant up Iraq to the insurgents. i anticipate its sparkling why some are squaddies and others are protesters - some basically have not have been given the tummy for sacrifice, some can no longer see previous the present - see what's better helpful indoors the long-term.

Why should the President listen? Can you tell me what the percent difference of votes in both Houses? 1% or 2% difference in a vote drawn down party lines. Would you want every bill that passed by only 1% to be signed into office? Not me. We are a Republic and not a Democracy! By the way...do you really want the Government in control of Health Care in this country? Give me one large program that government has done that is not a huge disaster! Military? Social Security? Welfare? Tax Code? Immigration? Medicare and Medicaid? Education? Name one!!!! Government becomes inefficient when it get too big. It already is now and you want to add to it. Friggin idiot!!!

Well we all know that they were going to do it so it's certainly not a surprise. We also all know that it will be vetoed, certainly not a surprise and I applaud him for it, and we all know the troops can't come home tonight as the job isn't done yet, and we all know that if they did genocide would take place over there, and we all know, with the exception of you, that the military doesn't make any money on this, and we all know that if you want money for schools and health care that you get the Congress that you are so proud of to stop spending $480 BILLION a year in foreign aide...go back to you kool-aide boy that's what your comments mean to us, oh and we all know that it wasn't 70% of the people..geez!

Possible yes, will he, no. The President isn't going to let a bunch of commie pansies in congress sway the course. He's a war President as he says and the war veto pen is about to be wielded.

The sound waves generated from the outcry of 70% of the countries populaton will enter Bush's ears, then bounce around in that empty cranium and fade. Bush will wash the blood off the next check Haliburton has Cheney deliver to him, and he will cash it. In a perfect it world universal health care would be higher on the list than war profiteering bloodshed, unfortunately the world is far from perfect. Schools over guns is a wonderful idea, now all we have to do is go to Dubai and sell the idea to Haliburton, they are running our Congress from the Middle East now, so they don't have to worry about any Democrat backed Congressional over sight inquiries.

I watched the senate hearings today. They were proposing not to give a time table to bring them home.

The presiden'ts job is to make the right decisions for our country , not to do everything congress thinks he shoul do. It doesn't matter whether the democrats run a male or female for president in 2008 , they won't have a candidate with any balls.

We have had fear crammed down our throats through lies and more lies. I don't think it is possible for Bush to listen as his head is in an anatomical reverse twist. He is the "decider' and so far as he is concerned, when he talks to God, he looks in the mirror. The people in Irag will sort out their own religious messes without any outside interference, and leaving them will be the best thing for everyone. You are right about the war mongers, they make the big bucks, and by a strange co-incidence, Halliburton is front and center.
getting no-bid contracts. Vote for Hillary!! Best wishes
