I've lost faith in the two party system. Between the democrats and republicans, neither party delivers on what's best for the country, only what's best for the party and their agenda. This system needs to be ripped down and started over. We need to head back to the days of no political parties, a time when upstanding citizens nominated themselves as candidates, and wanted to be elected not to further the interests of themselves or special interest groups, but to be elected to serve and better the country, a time when the local politician also doubled as the local blacksmith (In the late 1700's, early 1800's; replace with appropriate 21st century job), when congress was in session only a few weeks each year or during national emergencies. Our founding fathers never intended for us to have political parties, never intended for politics to be a career, and in this day and age, it's hard not to see why.

NO! Our current system allows only those with money to even consider becoming a candidate. And how can those with money relate to the middle class?
Also if you have made a mistake in your past, but have learned from it and lived a good life, the media takes your mistake and vilifies you with it. This unfortunately means that good men and women cannot enter the political arena

I have faith in the system, for sure. But I honestly feel that the system is currently being held hostage by greedy and corrupt men in high places. If we as freedom loving citizens can liberate the system from the hands of these individuals, then the system will function wonderfully.

It's like having the best car in the world, what good is it if you put someone behind the wheel that can't drive.
