It seems that woman are overusing this phrase when going in for breast augmentation surgery. So I want to know what exactly can a women with larger breasts do more confidently than one with smaller breasts? Or is this really a product of ever increasing vanity?

It's because society and mainstream media has decided more = better and more attractive and more wanted. Men may have an opinion, but society has let it become way too known (at least that of perverts who prefer an abnormally proportioned woman) to women what that opinion is. So then us normal proportioned women feel like less...

It's no different then men fearing they themselves aren't "big enough," no matter what the norm is...we just have our own version that is just as sad. If not more because it's more noticeable to society...

Edit: The 12-year-old I once was would have killed for the amount I have now...but I don't have what society, and what I feel men, would see a desirable amount. So no wonder superficial women think it will make them more confident...

I think it's because breasts are probably the most common male "fetish" due to the impact of breast feeding memories on the developing child, and that can make a woman feel secure.

Knowing you have what most guys want is what self-confidence is all about.

Personally, I think it's a crock. I've had girlfriends with big breasts and no breasts and it didn't matter to me. In fact, they can get in the way.

I have found, though, that women like having at least some feature that attracts men, and breasts are probably the safest bet.

It's not just women. Why do men equate a bigger penis with greater self-confidence?
It's vanity. Its competition. If you look at it from the evolutionary standpoint, it is a sign of increased virility and fertility.
Its the media ideal. The media is perpetuating the ideal that women should have small waists and big breasts. When women can't live up to this ideal, some feel rejected and lonely.

I know for me, personally, my breast size makes me more self-conscious. It really isn't fun to have people staring at them all day, despite what I'm wearing. Sometimes, its just nice to be looked into the eyes.

For me personally breast augmentation gave me more self confidence because I had very small breasts, and I had a complex about them. It constantly bothered me when I was young. My sisters made fun of me, and I never felt good about the way clothes fit, I tried to hide myself. After my surgery I felt better, I don't flaunt my breasts, I don't see them as a source of attraction. But I feel better about myself, I love the way my upper body matches my lower body, I feel properly proportioned. I didn't get crazy huge implants, they fit me and no one can even tell that the are fake, which is perfect for me.

I have never seen a study on it, but I would think that larger breasts equal more self confidence up to a point. Most women who have a D or larger are not confident about them.

It is the miserable bodily conception of life. They think they are their body so they need to increase this or decrease that or change this or that. No one is ever satisfied with the Karma they got. We are not this body, IE race, color, breasts, hair, intellect, religion, nationality, job, etc. We are eternal spirit souls, Part and Parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. If one wants to get off this bodily platform and realize their eternal spiritual nature the Maha Mantra is most recommended for the quickest realization. For more info go to harekrishnatemple.c Read Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada - tells the purpose of human life which has nothing to do with breasts.
