If you have recently got it, its probably adjusting to the tank. If not he may be stressed. Is there any other fish? Other fish may be stressing it out. If there is no other fish, he may be lonely. He may just be being lazy. Next time think of all the solutions then pick the most probable one.

Not sure what is wrong with it but don't take it out your tank into clean water, it will only stress him out more especially if the water is not out of your tank. I would do a water change and maybe clean the gravel. Sorry...to hear about your fish but i had one the same and taking it out the tank into new water will only kill it (unless the water temp is the same and it has good bacteria in the water). I also hate seeing my fish die..so dont watch him...go away and come back and hopefully it is sorted.Hope all turns out okay!!!

Add a bit of stress coating in, some aquarium salt. Do NOT move him! That will just further stress him because he is not farmiliar with his new surroundings!
