The main campus is located in State College - University Park, PA. But there are satellite campuses across the state. Here's a complete list with links to the campuses for more information:

Chances are, if you live in PA there's a campus near you. Hope this helps.

I have friends who go to IUP and they say it is fun but I'm not sure it's one of the most prestigious schools in the area. I'm also a little biased because I am a Penn State student. I never personally attended Penn State Altoona but of my friends who go there only one has not enjoyed it. It's a small campus located in the middle of nowhere outside the city of Altoona. Penn State Univ. Park is a large campus but not ridiculously large. Freshman year it took me 20 minutes to walk from one corner of campus to the other but the average walk to each class is around 5-10 minutes. Football weekends are insane! Penn State Alumni flock to Penn State each weekend there is a home game. An advantage of Penn State over IUP is that a Penn State education is a little more prestigious than an IUP education. Basically you just need to decide if you want to go to a larger school with more students and a true college town atmosphere like Penn State or a smaller school like IUP. You should take a visit to each and attend a tour to see the colleges.
