A friend of mine had her electric shut off, because her boyfriend won't get a job and help pay the bills. She has a good paying job, but it's not good enough to pay every single bill they have. They recently went thru some drama which I won't get into, but her electric bill went from 200 one month, to 700 the next. I have her oldest boy at my house, but her boyfriend won't let her take their 10 mo old baby out of the house. She tried to bring him over here, so he could have a wamr bottle, but her boyfriend knows that if she takes the baby, she won't come back. She's been thinking about leaving him for a while now, but today was the last straw.

My question is, how would we go about getting that baby out of their house and into mine, quickly and with little confrontation, and without having to call the cops lol? He doesn't have a job this week, I don't think, and he doesn't have any friends to run around with, so he's at home just about all day, every day.

I just talked to her, and she said that she's just giong to move out when she gets the money. She has family that she can borrow it from to pay her bill, and get another place. So her electric should be back on tomorrow, and in the next few weeks, she should be moving out. She'll have a babysitter(me lol) so she won't have to worry about that. I just hope that everything goes good.

It sounds like you might have to have a confrontation. Nothing bad, just have someone he respects talk to him. If someone can get him to understand his baby and the baby's care should be at the top priority for all involved, then maybe he will be swayed and will let his child go. If your friend is definitely thinking of leaving him, holding their child hostage is not going to help him anyways. As for getting the cops involved, would they end up calling child protection?

She needs to call the cops and report that he is neglecting his child..that he refuses to let her leave with the baby and that the baby is in an un-safe enviroment because of the electricity. it is probably cold at night and food wise?? make the smart choice and go the legal road!! Its the only way to ensure the safety of everyone invovled.

She needs to get that baby out of there.. If the state finds out she is living in those circumstances they will take the baby from them both on neglect charges.

I would call the cops before someone else called CPS. She could lose her baby. Plus, you don't want him flipping out and the baby ending up hurt.

You may full well need the police to
intervene. That babie's health is the most
important issue right now.
So call, muster up the ooomph and go get
that child.

quickly sneak the baby out when
he is in the washroom
or while he showers (unless he doesn't shower)
or tell your friend to tell him to go buy something from the grocery store and then sneak the baby out
or tell him the baby is sick and you need to take him/her to the hospital
or sneak the baby out while he is sleeping
