It's probably not a concern, taking the pill several hours late. However, because Alesse is a low dose oral contraceptive, the manufacturer recommends using a back up method for 7 days following any missed pills.
See the Alesse package insert here. It's a pdf. http://www.wyeth.com/content/ShowLabeling.asp?id=85

Most likely not. In every pill pack there should be instructions about what to do if you miss a pill, and as long as you remember within 24 hours of the first pill you are usually OK. (check the alesse insert, as I have never read that particular one)

There have been higher rates of pregnancy on the lower dose pills, and researchers think it could be because people don't take them at the same time every day. While the official instructions say you should be ok, if you're really worried about getting pregnant, use backup protection for a week. It's really good that you usually take it at the same time every day.

I really don't think it will affect you greatly; except for maybe some breakthrough bleeding or spotting.
I took alesse for 2 weeks with non stop bleeding from the day i started the pill. Alesse was definately not for me, I had to be put on provera to stop the bleeding it was all so horrible! & it's now three weeks and still the same situation. I had really bad luck on Alesse.
Did that ever happen to you?

Yep- sure can
Any time you miss a pill, you should take two pills as soon as it's time to take your next pill and then use a form of back up protection for two weeks.
Those exact directions should be listed in your pill pack.
Good luck to you
**I missed the fact that you were just late with the pill. I'd still use back up though.

No you can not. just take it as soon as you remember. Your pack of pills should come with an insert that tells you what to do when missing a pill. The first 5 or so in the pack are okay to miss as long as you take it as soon as you remember!

Yes you can. It's very important that you take your pill at the same time everyday. No exceptions. To be on the safe side, I would use a condom for the next few days.

certainly not that you will be pregnant, provided your menstrual period is regular & you have taken the rest of the pills regulerly. rest of the pills if taken in time will prevent your ovulation & further chance of pregnancy. I take it granted that your 1st day of taking pill for a month is the 5th day of your menstrual cycle.
