No, sorry - you are not in your living room - you are in my classroom. Realize that in life you are very often going to be in situations where you will not be able to choose the comforts you would desire -those are meant for specific times and places. I would highly doubt that when you leave school and get a real job - your not getting a recliner, etc at your desk.
Deal with the chairs and desks and get ready to work, not chill!

recliners?! where on earth do you go to school? i'm lucky to have two big pillows for the "morning meeting". the kids have take turns using them and i bought them myself.

i've seen classrooms that have couches, but to get to actually sit on them is a privilege...

why are you asking? i'm dying to know the story behind this question! :o)

The layout of the seats: yes
Where individual people seat: no

If you let kids sit where they want to, they'll talk to each other and ignore half of what you try to teach. Where the chairs and desks go in the room is OK

I wish, we used to have circle tables and comfy chairs (like the kind in our sanctuary) and then our classroom moved and now we have regualr tables and hard chairs, Iast year we had a couch and it was awesome, but then they got rid of it.

I think in some situations it would help me concentrate better. However, in the classes I find boring, it would probably just make me doze off faster.
