It has taken me....I kid you not....two hours to download a song. It is still downloading right now as I type this, and I started it two hours ago. It is up to 89% after two hours. And don't get me started on video files.

I heard about Limewire pro already. I'm looking for other answers, thanks.

I'm getting really fed up with the entire Internet downloadable media franchise now.

You might want to check the speed of your computer. If your computer is older than a few years old, it may not be completely compatiable for downloads, so it may require a few updates. The only reason why I say this is because I also have Limewire and it takes me 5 minutes tops to download a song (some as fast as a minute or less). Other than that, you could always go for iTunes or search the internet for something. Good Luck!

It completely depends on 2 things. First, you can increase the amount of bandwidth LimeWire uses in the options menu. Second, you can have the fastest internet in the world, but if you're downloading from someone who has slow internet, you're gonna end up waiting forever. So, after quality, the speed of the other person's internet (Modem, Cable/DSL, T1 and T3 or Higher) is the most important thing to look for.

sorry dude limewire is THE fastest.
try changing internet company,
because dial-up really stinks on limewire.
or it just could have been the song.
popular songs have more people to upload them from so the download goes a lot faster!!!

Most of the other file-sharing programs I've seen either have spy-ware or ad-ware. Maybe you could try just picking another file of the same content. Sometimes I have to do that. And then you can just cancel the slower file.

I know people that use an old copy of bearshare to get what they need. Speed just depends on your/their connection. I think you might have to pay for it now tho..
