Montessori. She was a medical doctor who took in street orphans. She said she could teach them, just as others taught the upper class children of Europe. No one believed that the little orphans could ever learn anything.........they were street orphans......no home, no family, no food, no anything! So, she took them in, and she began the first Montessori school (not knowing this would ever become a FAMOUS method of teaching!) Then, the medical community thought she was nuts. They didn't just doubt her reasoning, they figured she was absolutely insane! All the children learned quickly and well. NOW, she's famous.

Rosa Parks. She was a black women, that no one would have cared about due to the fact that civil rights were just getting into swing. When she didn't give up her seat on the bus to a white man, everyone (mostly white dudes which I myself am) became angry with her. But she stood her ground (or set her ground?), and became a role model of the Black Power and Civil Rights movement, which obviously had a huge impact on U.S. history! Very Famous!
