I know this may be a silly/stupid question? but I am a baker/pastry cook and is seriously considering moving to Miami for career reasons, I know with many jobs being in the service industry that chances are I may find a job in my field, my question is with me moving for more money and growth (I understand that Miami has a fairly high cost of living) is it really worth it? And if it helps, Im 24, single, no kids and have really bad credit ( I'm scared of being approved for an apartment or condo when I do decide to move) PLEASE HELP!!!!! Thanks in advance ~mami

Maybe you could work your way over to Miami. Consider starting over somewhere not quite as expensive, maybe Sarasota, Ft. Lauderdale, or even Orlando at one of the resorts.
Get even more experience, clean up your credit, get more contacts, and head on to Miami.

Miami does have a very high cost of living, but we are abundant in restaurants...we are a region that relies alot on tourists. You may be able to get an efficiency on Miami Beach, which will leave you with a large variety of restaurants to apply to. Whether it is worth the move...it's hard to say.
