Try using saddle soap...or a polish that comes in the can, NOT liquid!! and even better, get the polish in a can that is "neutral" that way you can use it for any color shoes/boots..

applicable way i chanced on grew to become into to fill the scuff with polish and gentle-weight it. The polish melts and fills in the scuff marks. Rub the polish in with a moist rag till you get the end you want. After that a solid coat of glo coat floor wax makes it shine.

meltonian shoe creme.( most shoe repair shops carry it..some foodstores as well)
soft dry cloths.
first buff off any dust, dirt etc,.
take a new clean dry soft cloth..run it across the shoe polish tin...apply to leather on boots in circular motion...
try to rub the creme into the leather it moisturizes it.
let the creme absorb for about 10 minutes..
then with your next clean dry soft cloth..really buff the leather until you have a soft shine.

Saddle soap's the best. My brother's been a hard-core biker for 25 years & that's all he ever used on his boots & jackets.
