properly, being plunged into poverty once you have been a progressed u . s . a .? i might say sure. there grow to be extra possibilities in Iraq decrease than Saddam's rule. there's a flow of refugees from Iraq to tutor this- those people who stayed throughout the dictatorship of Saddam are actually fleeing the country. And what selections have they have been given? no longer purely do they must concern terrorists, yet additionally US militia's blunders. The infrastructure has broken down, and there are no longer any jobs different than becoming a member of the police or the militia, or the optimum paid- becoming an extremist fighter. --- Iran, did no longer have an effective nuclear weapons software (they nonetheless do no longer), and Iraq grow to be regulated strictly via the international community so as that it would on no account grow to be a wager lower back (yet, us of a nonetheless attacked).

The people had electricity, cheap gasoline, a fairly stable life, and schools were available to all. However, anyone who disagreed was in deep trouble or worse. Now, people have very little of everyday comforts, life is very uncertain, and the religious factions are getting crazier everyday. Any group that invents the term 'holy war' is borderline nuts to start. Saddam kept the lid on a lot of troubles that would have surfaced at a later time. I think this country will eventually split along the religious divisions and keep fighting over the oil revenues. Best wishes

Maybe that is a question to ask the families of the 100,000 plus Iraqi people that Saddam had murdered.
Nobody had the real picture when Saddam was in charge because he controlled everything. Anything that was let out to the media was because Saddam allowed it.

By keeping everything under control ? If you had no freedom and no choice in anything how can that be better. My son is in Iraq for the 3rd time my youngest will be there this year for the first time they have a choice to be there thats why they joined the army. Both sons feel we need to stay there. The son there
now talks about Iraqi freedom. The choice to be free not have
someone tell you what how and when.Take your freedom wheres your pride.

The Iraqis still consider their situation better today than under Saddam. It's the terrorists who are doing all the killing in Iraq. America leaving won't change that until the terrorist finish murdering all Iraqis who wont submit to them.

in my opinion definatly now you might say but there constantly in fear of being killed or somthing like that true but they were under sadam as well however now they can actually go to school and get an education if you do the research and actully look into it most of the country is alot better off but all you here about is the bad and most of that is in a few main areas such as bagdad where there is a bigger blend of culture and look at our history it took around 10 years for us to set up our constitution and we still constintly change it so you must take that into consideration

No. The only thing he kept under control was his executioners. The whole world is better off without him.

No, but where they go from here is up to them. We've accomplished what we went to do- topple Saddam, and (auspiciously) to look for WMD's. Now that we're thoroughly certain there aren't any, it's time to pull up stakes and walk. The Iraqi people will need to make their own future, and they won't get started till we're gone.
