"Americans are too broadly underinformed to digest nuggets of information that seem to contradict what they know of the world ... Instead, news channels prefer to feed Americans a constant stream of simplified information, all of which fits what they already know. That way they don't have to devote more air time or newsprint space to explanations or further investigations... Politicians and the media have conspired to infantilize, to dumb down, the American public. At heart, politicians don't believe that Americans can handle complex truths, and the news media, especially television news, basically agrees."
Tom Fenton, former CBS foreign correspondent
"[I] never saw a foreign intervention that the [New York] Times did not support, never saw a fare increase or a rent increase or a utility rate increase that it did not endorse, never saw it take the side of labor in a strike or lockout, or advocate a raise for underpaid workers. And don't let me get started on universal health care and Social Security. So why do people think the Times is liberal?"
veteran New York Times reporter John Hess

What liberal media are you talking about? Jon Stewart? Michael Moore? These guys are not journalists, they are comics!

The media is owned and operated by and for the very wealthy, who historically have tended to a conservative bias. While some commentators manage to put reasonably complete coverage on, most go the way that gets them somewhere, which is to agree with the boss.

If you think FOX and CNN are liberal biased you lack any objectivity whatever. Overall the media in the United States are propagandists for the conservative viewpoint, and as full bore capitalist as they come.

The media regularly broadcasts the likes of Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh, but who does the hatchet jobs from the left? Oh! There aren't any! I guess with all the bias in the news readers we don't need balance in the editorials.

Conservatives HAVE quelled the liberal media. They bought it, hired only sycophants and promoted only the most egregious lickspittles available. If, by some chance, somebody takes a moderate position now they are immediately branded as a leftist or a liberal, because it has been so long since we saw one on television we have forgotten what they look like.

We can't, but that doesn't matter.

There's some natural selection to this.

If you invest based on the Lou Dobbs / Paul Krugman idea that "the system is all fixed to benefit only a couple of rich fat cats" then you won't do well.

If you invest based on what you read in the WSJ, IBD and Barron's and what you see on CNBC and Bloomberg, you WILL do well.

To say the media does not slant left is ridiculous!! Fox news is better but not much. The only way is to start their own media channel. I'm sure it would be the end of CNN.....

Start telling the truth, quit lying, quit stealing, something all government officials have a problem doing.

Refuse to watch their stations and buy the products on those stations. Money talks.

The media is not liberal. They are propegating a myth. You can't change a situation that doesn't exist.
