This is why we should never make fun of another person or look down on that person. Every single person has a burden to bear that other people cannot see or understand. You are a very wise teen !!! My story... I am alone and certainly did not think that would ever happen. But here I am.... lonely. I made my bed, now I must lie in it.

Hon, you are so right everyone does have a story...and to them its the worst possible life lived that anyone could imagine. I was kidnapped at a young age, found by my father about 4 yrs later. I was molested by "a guy jogging" while I was outside riding my bike and my exotic dancing mother was asleep ( I was 5 or 6) was locked up behind closed doors and curtains, treated as "the family puss drainage) pregnant and married at 19 (married 9 hours before delivery) divorced with 2 kids, pregnant again married again, ex husband committed suicide a little over a year ago and I blame myself for hurting him and leaving him for the Jerk I'm divorcing now. Had a career for 1 year 4 months before the jerk destroyed that too. I live in a foreclosed house with no clue when they will lock my doors, no money, no job, 3 kids (daycare costs more than I can make for 3 kids), by myself and my water heater just went. I'm 32 years old.
Honest I am not trying to outdo anyone or vent or get any sympathy but I was impressed that a teen would have the presence of mind to realize that everyone has a story, and actually care. Maybe some of the answers you get on here will inspire an amazing film.

You sound very strong, not lost at all.
I remember thinking, when I had a summer job as a temp janitor cleaning toilets and dumping garbage, that I had sunk to the lowest level of my life (even though there are much worse jobs than that). I felt this strange comfort standing on the bottom, because everything else, to me anyway, was up from there.
Since then, things have gotten better, and worse, and better, and worse again, because that's life.
It sounds to me like you're in that same place I was, standing on the bottom and looking up. When you are there, people will tell you things they wouldn't tell Stephen Spielberg.
I think you would make a great documentary film maker, because of that skill. With today's technology, almost anyone can make a movie now. You just need a decent digital camera and at least one very good friend to look out for you and your stuff, because the best film comes from some of the worst places, places where most people would feel too uncomfortable.
Keep building contacts, and good luck. You already have things going for you that others could not buy at any price.

If you want to be a filmmaker, my advise is to get your hands on a camera and start making movies! Keep a journal that you can write your story ideas in, or jsut your thoughts. Documentary filmmaking can be as easy as following a bag being blown by the wind (it wasnt cheesy when the first guy did it!), or setting up a camera and talking to someone. Watch as many student/ indie/ documentaries as you can. Pay attention to how the filmmaker decided to structure his story.
Since you're a teen I'll assume you're broke too. When I was in film school I was always out of money, but the people I was working with had rich parents and endless bank accounts to fund projects with. I, on the other hand, had to think about how to make stuff look cool and work on the super cheap. I resented them at the time, but I think any time you have to use your brain to overcome an obstacle you'll be better off in the long run.
You'll figure yourself out, and if you really want to you can be a filmmaker. It's going to take guts, hard work, and the ability to bounce back and take criticism. Don't let your crappy past do anything but fuel your fire. (I'm done being corny now.)
As far as my story, I'm jsut out trying to get it done, but I'm jsut not sure what my next step should be yet.

Ouch! You are a serious little lady and for good reasons! It's good that you are a "watcher" because watcher's learn...a lot! You also have a heart...a big heart. What a great combination. You have been blessed...in some ways. Have you ever thought about being in "the little theater"? You would be good at it. Be sure and keep journaling because it will be very valuable when you are ready for that film or your first book. If you can sqeeze in some college courses, you have the mind for it. Also, vocational schools are good for learning a skill. We all need money until the 'big break' comes! Besides, you can meet interesting, talented people in college...a night class...possibly..in say, drama?
My story sounds fairly similar to yours...maybe not quite as serious, but bad. It's great that some seeds grow right out of cement and thrive. I sincerely wish you the best!

My own life took some hits in my childhood, but it has turned out too well to even attempt to tell you. I am fascinated by your story. I am truly sorry to hear that your life, so far, as been marked with some sad events, but look at the beauty of your spirit. Not many people have your insight or even a hint of your wisdom. Stay focused, little one. Study hard. You are a survivor, a good writer, and an exceptional human being. You're the one with a story to tell, yours and others. I fully expect you to realize your dream of becoming a filmmaker. God has His hand and His eyes on your heart and your life. He loves you. You aren't lost to Him. Seek Him and He will bless your efforts and open the doors to your future. You're special. Believe it.

Yes, everybody has a story. Those of us who walk the straight and narrow road can tell the most boring stories. After all what is interesting about a woman who for the past 20 years assumed the role of a watchdog. Are the kids safe at home?
Have they eaten a nutritious meal? How are they keeping up with their studies? Can I afford dance school fees, soccer membership fees, chess club fees? School uniform bills?
University fees? What about the company they keep?
Blah blah blah...
So you see stories are over rated.

Why do you feel lost? Do you live with your parents? Do you go to school? Did something happen recently that makes you feel lost?
As for me, I lost a parent when I was young. I got married in mid 20s, and have lived through a very difficult marriage for about 10 years. When I look back, I have gone through a lot, and there are times when I felt like what you seem to be feeling.

My story is I was frustrated with the material world after so many miseries. (which I found is what we are supposed to come to if we want to come to reality) So I searched and searched until I found the process how to become completely satisfied and out of all misery and illusion) I was lead to the Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada- It gives the purpose and meaning of life. The main process it to chant the Maha Mantra (the great mantra for deliverance from all suffering and illusion) I tried it and read the book and 14 years of practice am very happy to Understand so many things which gives one great peace of mind.( Such as compassion and Why we are all here and how to come to our constitutional position, etc. For more info go to harekrishnatemple.c I love Spiritual life and Universal Truth. Thanks for asking.

You are a people watcher. It's a good past time and you enjoy it because you are creative and artistic. Most people are busy in their daily lives and really don't think about everyone's story. You are lost because you don't have direction. Talk to your Guidance Counselor at school and have him or her recommend classes that will help you attain your dream. Steven Spielberg went to high school somewhere, too. Good luck to you! It won't happen unless you make it happen!
