On April 1,2007 I will be turning 17. 17 is also the age of consent in Louisiana, will I be able to chill with my boyfriend whos 24? I really need answers. I have been researching this topic for the past 6 months. I'm turning to yahoo answers because this is where I get the most accurate and fast information on this subject. I was just wondering if you could include in your answer if, charges can be pressed what could they possibly charge him with. I know they can't charge him with statutory rape but, what else PLEASE HELP ME...I NEED MAD MAJOR ANSWERS!!!!!!!!

Usually (I'm not sure how LA does it) the age of consent (when referring to a minor under the age of 18) has specific limitations, such as they can consent to sex with someone who is within 2 years of their current age. So if you're 17, your boyfriend would have to be 19 for it to be legal. Like I said, that's the way it works in other states, such as Texas, California, Michigan, and Alaska. I'm not entirely sure about Louisiana. But this might give you a basis to start from.

if you are of the age of consent he can't be charged with anything that has to do with a minor.
i wouldn't leave the state though.

for one your boyfriend is a sick pervert and most likely a loser if he has to date someone young like you. My advice is leave him ASAP! you will remember this one day when you are sitting in your trailer park pregnant with 3 kidsa nd he has no job and is drunk all the time. Mark my wods
