The first one is im standing on a very thin log but to me if feels very wide and at the other end of this log is my father and i have to choose to pass him and he dies or he passes me and i die. Also within that dream things dont feel normal such as sharp pins full soft and not pointed. The Second dream im having, im always being heartbroken by a girl im dating. If someone could possibly answer this question i would very much appreciate it. Thanks

Before you take all these opinions too seriously, you must understand that dream symbols are often highly personal. In other words, only you know what all these things mean.

I've read many books on the subject, and the dream industry keeps cranking them out. The first thing I read was a dictionary of dream symbols based on freudian and jungian interpretations, and I later found that much of what those guys believed was based on the times in which they lived.

Mike Myers, for example, would not be in their books. It all changes and the best advice I ever read was to keep a note pad by your bed and write stuff down as soon as you wake. Don't change positions and snooze first - you'll lose it all if you do. Just write down the important stuff.

Later, when you're really awake, you can go through the notes and write down what these things mean to YOU. First impressions are important here. Then you can try to piece it together. Most of the time, the answer is very simple and you'll know when it resonates with you.

The one guy is right - dreams are composed of random meaningless crap - but that crap is exactly what your brain recycles to make sense of things as your brain sifts through all your business at the end of the day.

Before you sleep, think of things you want to solve. Your last few waking thoughts will often "seed" your dreams. If not, no problem. Something else might be more important. Just be ready to write it down and be honest with yourself about it later. Only you can do this.

Below is an example book on the subject that is simple and effective, with no hype or BS.

Ok. I'll take a stab at it ;o)
The first one: You feel a need to choose between your obligations with your father or doing what you want to do. Maybe you feel smothered by him, and at the same time you feel guilty for feeling that way. (If you pass him and choose yourself he dies). The log looking thin but feeling wide might mean part of you knows that your footing in this situation is more secure than it feels.
I think you'll probably keep having this dream until you choose a course of action and finish what your subconscious is trying to work out.
The second dream I think is just a simple insecurity dream.

UMM well maybe the first dream means that you are in conflict with your father, or that you feel like you have to make a life or death decision in real life, and it's really affecting you. ANd the second dream may mean that yu are afraid of getting heartbroken, becuase you really care for her. I think your dreams represnt the fears that you may have in real life, but the dream is intrepreting your fears with different situations. But it's okay, I mean sometimes we need to go through stuff in order to learn, and have more experience, and maybe you will be able to help someone else with the experiences that you have gone through.

Dreams are a way for us to resolve issues going on in our lives. Maybe you feel that as you grow older you are becoming more independent and your father may appear to be becoming a less significant part of your life...maybe you feel that to be grown up you cannot rely or depend on your father any longer or that becoming a man means not being a daddy's boy anymore. Death usually means the death of something in our lives not a physical death.

As far as the girl goes it sounds like you have a low self esteem, like you worry that your relationship may not end... Only you have to power to allow a recurring dream to frighten you. You can learn to face your dreams and then take control of them. When you go to sleep at night think about your dream and the worse case scenerio then think about how you could change the dream...like say your dad and yourself are on a log but when you fall in the water you realize its not very deep.
I have very real dreams so real that there are times in my life that I have actually mistaken a dream for reality. I also have changed things in mid dreamstate to suit my purpose. Dreaming can be like a movie we are producing and it is all up to the producer to create the situation he wants.

Reoccuring dreams always carry a message for the dreamer and will keep coming until you get what it is. A lot depends on the exact details of the dreams, how old you were when they started and what was going on in your life at the time. If you would like to explore them further:

this is not any thing to be worried about it is not a dream about death or wanting suicide. From what i read about both of these is the simularities are people you are close with. The problem is not that they will die or you will die but both situations require trust from either your father or your girlfriend. It is either you dont feel that you trust both your father or your girlfriend or you feel your father and your girlfriend dont trust you.

They say dreams are your sub-concious telling you things. Maybe you have some deep ceeded guilt or anxiety with your father. On the other one we are all afriad of having our herts broken. Try to relax and think about happy thoughts before going to bed.
