1. Good live music scene. Not ok or halfway decent, a GOOD music scene. (This is pretty much the most important thing.)
2. Nice, open minded people.
3. Good weather (nothing averaging under 30 or over 110)
4. Bodies of water nearby (Lakes, oceans, nice rivers)
Thank you! Anywhere in the lower 48 is great, and any additional info would be much appreciated

Austin, Texas !! Sixth Street on the weekends rocks with live great music. And what's not to like about Austin. The University Of Texas, the Hill Country, and surrounded by lakes !!! Many Austinites are under 30. Check it out !!

Asheville, NC
1. We have the largest music festival in the South (in the country maybe?) called Bel Cher. Over 300,000 people go every year. Lot of local clubs and live music, too.
2. Open minded, lol. There is no such thing as weird in Asheville. Half the people I know are gay and/or hippies.
3. We don't have good weather, we have perfect weather. It snows an average of 4 times in the winter with lows in the teens at worst and during the summer it is 70-80 and with zero humidity. Very few people even have air conditioning because it never gets hot enough for it.
4. We're in the mountains where the French Broad and Swananoa rivers meet. There is a handful of lakes in town and whitewater rafting less than an hour away. The ocean (Charleston, SC) is only 4 hours away I believe.
Go here to find your spot, I tell everyone about this site: http://www.findyourspot.com/
Good luck.

South East Florida is great for the music scene.
Downtown Palm Beach, Downtown Delray Beach, Beach side Fort Lauderdale, some places in Miami - all great.
Also in Orlando - Clematis Street at night.
Most things are jumping starting Friday nights. Tons of Indy bands all around - and you can find stores that sell the Indy CDs right there too.
Personally I like the Downtown Palm Beach and Delray Beach the best.
Come and visit the area for a weekend - come on Thursday, and go on out starting Friday nite and have a blast!

Austin - it is the Live music capital of the world
There are lots open minded-laid back people
Weather is decent. I wont lie, it gets hot, but wont get over 110 if only for one day. August the median temp is about 100. but the winters are very mild. You'll get at least one ice day a year
Lake Travis & Town lake are there with other lakes nearby
