As a growing teen, I need more sleep. I cannot go to sleep. I have to wake-up at 5:20 every morning and go to bed at 10:30. Besides getting more sleep, I can never go fall asleep. Things are always on my mind and I am so compulsive that it takes me like half an hour before I got to sleep.

I plan to go to bed at 9:30, but it takes me about an hour after I reach bed to go to sleep. I need to fall asleep faster and grow taller to get girl friends.

i think its sweet that you want to grow taller to get girlfriends. i cant sleep either. last week i got a total of nine hours.im in 8th grade ad i found out what my problem was. i got really off track try this. i know homework does this to me. when you get home from school do your homework imediatlly. then tae a shower get cleaned up or go ourt side and shoot hoops or something like that to get your mind off of the homework you just did then try to sit down and relax after that that way your starting to get lazy and sleepy. then 3 min before you fall asleep lay down and listen to soft music not like orchestra just soft rock or alternitive and you'll start to get sleepy then turn off the radio and try not to think. peronally i wount worruy about your height right now. us girl mature faster and yes i hate waiting for the guys i like to get taller than me im 5'11'' and it stinks but you'll get your chance to shine and you'll shot up trust me.

I have found that if my stomach is empty when I get into bed there is usually difficulty falling asleep. A small healthy snack at bedtime will suffice. A long walk or jog or other aerobic exercise a few hours before bedtime always put me fast asleep in a short time. And if all of the above do not work I am sure that a recitation of any prayers you know with your head on your pillow and saying them slowly and deliberately, will do the job.

My hubby had the same problem.... he couldnt turn his brain off long enough to fall asleep. He has a writting book next to his bed now. He writes down in point form all the stuff racing around his head. takes about 15 minutes and then falls asleep. Its funny reading some of the stuff that keeps you awake. Annoying plots on tv shows. water shortages and did i put the bin out. hope this helps.

OK first of all you don't have to be taller just to impress girls. There are a lot more important things that girls are looking for. As to your sleeping problem i would recommend that you talk to someone about your sleeping problems. What I normally do before I sleep is sit and read. Do anything that will relax you. If you cannot sleep, i can recommend something for you to take. It is called melatonin. it is a natural hormone in your system that helps you sleep. You can buy it at most stores but you need to ask a pharmacist before you buy it.

i dont know i have the same exact problem-
sunday night, i couldnt sleep- i wasnt tired at all and i kept thinking about things so around 1 i started reading and i got tired and fell asleep about 3:00.
i woke up at 5:45, and i dont even know if i slept, while i was "sleeping" i kept "waking up and "going back to sleep.."" thats why you cant sleep- you rthink to much about things. i was told to "clear my mind" haha that did not work so idk what to do either.
i was also told to drink warm milk.
and i found listening to music SOMETIMEs lets me fall asleep faster-most times i just end up singing along.

if you woke up earlier and would be more active you'd be more tired. if you wake up late then u wont be tired

the best thing to do is to go jogging in th evening work your self up , eat a light meal, take a bath, and baby i bet you will go to sleep in 20 min. good luck, i tried this before
