First you have to understand if you are of child bearing age and the doctor is treating you with a medication or procedure that might endager a fetus they will ask you beforehand if you are pregnant. If you just had your period a week or so ago you really shouldn't have any reason to worry and if you think you might be pregnant or if you question it at all when the doctor asks you. Just tell her you shouldn't be but you would like to make sure and your doctor will do an in office urine test.

Tell your doctor what you have told us--- then if she thinks there is need, a pregnancy test could be administered before you take the medication.
But if all is as you say, there is no problem.
Doctors HAVE to ask you that because so many things can totally mess up a growing baby--- especially in the critical first few weeks when everything is just starting to develop. No one wants a repeat of the thalidomide tragedies, etc. so your doctor and pharmacist and X-Ray technician should always ask--
Better asking too often, than not enough.

well I did get pregnant and had something similar happen, I had to take a medication for being sick during the first month of pregnancy and I didn't know I was pregnant. The medication I took made the baby very sick, if you are having unprotected sex then there is always a risk.

Take a test (EPT early test lets you know the results earlier then any others) and if its negative don't worry about it. But I would see you doctor about birth control pills down the road.

Any doctor has to ask that before they can prescribe a medication to a woman. There are certain medications that can harm a fetus. If it will make you and your boyfriend feel better, then take a pregnancy test. I am sure you are not, it was just your doctor looking out for you and being safe is all. Hope you get to feeling better.

All doctors have to ask you if there is a possibility. Especially if they are prescribing meds. Alot of meds can either hurt an unborn child or slow its development, so they are just double checking. No need to take a test.

As long as your periods are coming and are regular and you have no signs or symptoms then I wouldn't worry about it at all. You wouldn't need to take a pregnancy test. Next time the Dr. asks you that just tell them your sexually active but you use a method of birth control and give them the date of your last period :)

You really dont have to go into alot of detail - next time doc ask "are u pregnant" say "no". As for taking the preg test - any will be okay. As for the boyfriend - just tell him to chill.

Look if you have the benefits then get the test just to ease your inner mind, then let your boyfriend know. Maybe it was just a simple yeast infection. That would be just the least of it.

Wait, is all this stemmed from a doctor asking you if you were pregnant. All doctors ask that as a precaution before they prescribe certain meds. Sheesh, way to over analyze things.
