Section 8 of the Yahoo/Geocities Terms of Service - the offensive portion of which reads as follows:

8. CONTENT SUBMITTED TO YAHOO

By submitting Content to any Yahoo property, you automatically grant, or warrant that the owner of such Content has expressly granted, Yahoo the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sublicensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such Content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed.

HELLLOOO People...what irrate is telling you is that if you happen to be a poetry person and you post on poetry to see if people like...YAHOO owns it...I write ditties...they own them also....should someone ask you what a good slogan is for a product...and it catches on...YAHOO gets the license and royalties from it. It is NOT protecting YA....it give them sole rights to everything you write in here...should you go into inventions and mention a type of idea and it works...they own that too...notice the last line "in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed." Yikes...thanks for posting this question...I did not know that was there... Yikes again...Alda
P.S. Should you design a cute little avatar and someone wants to buy it for a design...they contact Yahoo.
