i think it means my parents care about me. you know if they didn't care about me, then they wouldn't punish me, they'd just let me do whatever, but they do care about me, so when i do wrong i get punished. and i like that they care about and love me.and i of course, i don't like actually being punished. i mean, who likes being grounded with no privileges for 2 weeks after staying out after curfew? but next time i want to stay out late, i remeber my previous punishmnet and it keeps me from doing anything stupid. is this normal for a 17 year old. to actually like it when she gets punished (not during, but afterwards)?

Yes, its normal and you sound like you have your head on your shoulders, probably because your parents care enough to take the time to be aware of you and what you do. Its nice to be loved and guided. I didn't have the guidance, like you do. I actually remember wanting limits! You will become a fine young adult, I can see it. A warm shout out to the parents who care about their childrens well being!

no love that means you value the fact that you have people in you life who care about you, that they would do anything to help you, I mean there are families who could careless, they let they child run wild, but yours care and I think that is nothing to be ashamed about, except if you are purposely doing things to test them cause if you do it to much, then are knocking at troubles door, so I Love that fact that you can appreciate the things they do for you, It took me for ever to know that they loved me, but I know now even though I think that there are things that could have been done differently but thats me, I Love that you love you peoples cause I love mines. Lol (I WIsh YOU THE BEsT) with them

taake care and God Bless you ^_^

Yeah, it's normal, typically 17 year olds are heartbroken and victims of a bad relationship, but amongst all the pain your parents still care about you which comforts you.

Perhaps not normal but its understandable and good. But still if you want more attention from your parents spend time with them. They don't like punishing you because then they think their child is some wild dip-stick but and you don't like it because you have no rights.
